Jackson takes down Pringles signs at ballpark — for now

Jackson GeneralsThe home of the Jackson Generals (Class AA; Southern League) will go without a name for now, as the team and Kellogg’s negotiates a naming-rights extension for Pringles Park.

Kellogg’s now owns Pringles after buying the brand from Proctor & Gamble, which has had naming rights to the ballpark for the past 15 years. It sounds like both sides want to see an extension of the deal — Pringles is a major employer in the city, as the Pringles plant is only one of two in the world — but haven’t been able to reach a financial agreement, with the city and the Southern League monitoring the talks.

So, without a deal in hand, Pringles signage at the ballpark is coming down.
