With the move to a new MLB parent in the form of the Kansas City Royals, the Lexington Legends (Low Class A; Sally League) will introduce a new look on Thursday, October 25.
The Legends’ Big L will be among those descending from the 410-foot-tall Lexington Financial Center Thursday, October 25, and his attire for his rappelling adventure will help bring in a new era of Legends’ baseball. He’ll be wearing one of the Legends’ new uniforms for 2013, complete with new logo and colors. The Legends recently became an affiliate of the Kansas City Royals and will have an all-new roster for 2013 made up of players under contract with Kansas City.
Big L is scheduled to begin his descent at 4:45 p.m.
The Legends will have a display near the Fifth Third Pavilion at Cheapside Park, 251 W. Main Street, during the October 25 “Thursday Night Live” event. The team will officially unveil its new logo, colors and three styles of uniforms that will be worn by players in 2013. Fans may pick up free t-shirts bearing the new home uniform style, as well as free Big L-style mustaches.
“This truly is an off-season of change around the ballpark with our new affiliation with the Kansas City Royals, and we’re all set to unveil our new uniforms for 2013,” said Legends General Manager Seth Poteat. “We’re thrilled with the new color scheme and logos and feel all of our fans are going to love the new look of their Legends.”
