Big milestone for the Altoona Curve (Class AA; Eastern League): the team recorded the thousandth win in the 14-year history of the team.
The record was set Saturday night, when Kris Johnson (2-2) tossed seven scoreless innings and combined with Tim Alderson and Vic Black to lead the Curve to a 3-0 victory over the Richmond Flying Squirrels. The team added to that win total with a 7-0 win over the Squirrels on Sunday.
The all-time franchise record for regular-season play now stands at 1,001 wins and 968 losses after Sunday’s win.
