A renovation of Fox Cities Stadium, home of the Wisconsin Timber Rattlers (Low Class A; Midwest League) would add a second level and a wraparound concourse in a $5.74 million project.
The Timber Rattlers are expected to unveil details of the expansion tomorrow at a meeting of the Grand Chute Town Board, which is being asked to contribute $400,000 in tourism development grants over the next two years toward the project. (The condition: no naming rights be sold to the ballpark.) The second level would add suites and club seating to the mix, with additional concessions, an expanded customer-service area, an expanded team store, upgraded team offices and a wraparound concourse on the main level. From what it sounds like the expansion will be similar to the expansion the Kane County Cougars (Low Class A; Midwest League) undertook several years ago to good effect.
