Target Field, home of the MInnesota Twins, will host the 2013 Big Ten baseball tournament, as the event moves out of Columbus for the first time since 2008.
It’s also the first time the event will be played at a Major League Baseball facility.
In most of the tournament’s history it was played at the home ballpark of the regular-season champion — giving that team a big advantage. In 2009 it was moved to a neutral site: Huntington Park, home of the Columbus Clippers (Class AAA; International League), where it was played this season.
