Houston new Voice of the RiverDogs

Charleston RiverDogsSean Houston is the new Voice of the Charleston RiverDogs (Low Class A; Sally League), hired as the club’s new director of broadcasting and media relations.

A 2008 graduate of the University of Florida with a degree in Telecommunication-News, Houston replaces Danny Reed, who held the position for 2½ years before leaving in August to become the voice of The Citadel Bulldogs.

“We’re excited to announce Sean’s hiring as our new director of broadcasting & media relations,” said RiverDogs GM Dave Echols.  “He has proven himself through his previous work to be an up-and-comer in the business, and we are pleased to have him as part of our organization.”

“I could not be more excited to join the RiverDogs,” said Houston. “It is a topnotch organization run by well-respected professionals, and it is located in a beautiful city.  I am anxious to get to work, and look forward to continuing the tradition of great broadcasters the RiverDogs have had before me.”

Prior to joining the RiverDogs, Houston worked for the South Atlantic League’s Lakewood BlueClaws (2011) as the broadcasting and media relations assistant, as well as Major League Baseball’s Tampa Bay Rays (2009-10), where he served as broadcasting coordinator.
