Modesto Nuts set another season-attendance record

Modesto NutsThe Modesto Nuts (High Class A; California League) set a season attendance record for the fifth consecutive year, drawing 180,785 fans to John Thurman Field.

The team broke the record on the last game of the season, when Patrick Watkins of Modesto walked through the turnstiles and became the 180,345th fan of the 2011 season. Watkins, attending the game with his family, waited until the final game of the season to attend his first Nuts game in 2011.

In addition to the overall attendance record, the Nuts set a franchise record with 14 sellouts during the season, including the 2011 All-Star Smash.

“The 2011 season has been a special one for the Modesto Nuts franchise,” said Nuts Vice President/General Manager Mike Gorrasi. “When you combine the second-half championship, 14 sellouts and the All-Star Smash, the 2011 season will certainly be remembered as the best season in franchise history.”
