As the Minor League Baseball season opens tonight, we’re seeing a lot of teams giving away refrigerator-magnet schedules in the next day or two. The Quad Cities River Bandits (Low Class A; Midwest League) are going a different direction by giving away a complete refrigerator.
This is the third straight year the River Bandits have opened a home schedule with a refrigerator giveaway, something that’s proven to be pretty successful in drawing fans out on a cool Davenport night to Modern Woodmen Park.
” Our fans come first and foremost to us in all aspects of our operation, so what better way to say ‘Welcome to a new season’ than to give a family such a valuable prize?” said General Manager Kirk Goodman. “Giving away magnet schedules is a great way to kick off a season, but doing things Bandit-style means going above and beyond for our fans, so we are taking things to a whole new level with this giveaway.”
