The Seacoast Mavericks (summer collegiate; Futures Collegiate Baseball League) will play their inaugural season at Bert George Field at Spaulding High School in Rochester, N.H., under a lease signed last night.
The Mavericks are one of four teams in the startup circuit.
The lease is for five years. Under the terms of the lease the Mavericks will made improvements to Bert George Field, including a new field, new bullpen mounds and new dugouts.
“This is a huge day for our organization. We are really excited to call Spaulding High School our home,” said Mavericks owner Dave Hoyt, a 1977 graduate of Spaulding High School (1977). “I have been a Rochester guy for most of my life. I played baseball on this field as a kid and I have coached a lot of games here. Rochester is a baseball city. There have been so many outstanding players that have come from Rochester it seemed only fitting that some of the country’s top collegiate players come here now and play.”
