Foresters to offer free ducats to Rockford unemployed

Rockford ForestersThe Rockford Foresters (summer collegiate; Midwest Baseball League) will offer free admission to a game this coming season to the unemployed, building on a promotion launched last season.

On game days, fans that are unemployed can get two free tickets to a game at Marinelli Field simply by showing their Illinois Department of Employment Security paperwork and a valid ID.

“Offering unemployed workers in the Rockford area free tickets is the least we can do,” said Majority Owner/President Joe Stefani. “The Rockford Foresters will continue to run this promotion year-after-year until the unemployment lines in the area go away.  This isn’t much, but it’s the least we can do.”

This years unemployment ticket offer is expanded from every Wednesday night game to every single game for the 2011 season in addition to giving unemployed workers two free tickets instead of just one during the 2010 season.
