MiLB teams to honor vets this weekend with special caps

More than 70 Minor League Baseball clubs, including all 30 Triple-A affiliates, will be participating in the “Stars & Stripes” cap program throughout the upcoming Independence Day holiday weekend.

More than 70 Minor League Baseball clubs, including all 30 Triple-A affiliates, will be participating in the “Stars & Stripes” cap program throughout the upcoming Independence Day holiday weekend. The caps for the 72 clubs were produced by the New Era Cap Co. and will have the American flag etched into each team’s logo. In the case of the Vancouver Canadians, a Maple Leaf design will be used instead of the “Stars & Stripes” one. The caps will be available for purchase at participating clubs’ ballparks, as well as on some of their web sites.

The participating clubs and Major League Baseball Properties Inc., which acts as Minor League Baseball’s licensing agent, have agreed to donate all royalties from the sales of these caps to Welcome Back Veterans,a program which addresses the needs of returning American Veterans and their families.
