The best and brightest of the Class AA circuit will be at Merchantsauto.com Stadium next season, as the New Hampshire Fisher Cats were awarded the 2011 Eastern League All-Star Game.

Team owner Art Solomon and Northeast Delta Dental President/CEO Tom Raffio made the announcement on the field during tonight's Fisher Cats/Akron Aeros game at Merchantsauto.com Stadium, marking the second time in four years that the EL's mid-summer classic comes to the Queen City.  The Fisher Cats also hosted the 2008 Northeast Delta Dental Eastern League All-Star Game.

"It is an honor to be the destination for this prestigious event featuring the very best prospects in the Eastern League," said Solomon.  "It is a testament to the fine performance put on by the city, the front office and the fans in 2008 that the league has bestowed this honor upon us once again, and we look forward to creating more memories for everyone involved next July."

Festivities for the 2011 Northeast Delta Dental Eastern League All-Star Game begin with the HR Concepts Total Access Block Party at Veterans Park in downtown Manchester, NH, on Tuesday, July 12.  The event, which runs from 6:00 p.m.-10 p.m., includes live entertainment and interactive games for fans, and admission is free to the general public.

"We are excited to work with our great partners in the city and business community to showcase Manchester," said Fisher Cats President/General Manager Rick Brenner.  "Through the combined efforts of so many people we were able to put together a great event in 2008, and we look forward to the challenge of putting on an even better show next summer."

"We are excited about bringing the Eastern League's 2011 mid-season classic to Manchester," said Eastern League President Joe McEacharn.  "This is our opportunity to show off our stars and Manchester is certainly a star in the Eastern League. The community has embraced the Fisher Cats and we certainly return the fans' enthusiasm."

The 2011 Northeast Delta Dental Eastern League All-Star Game will feature the stars of the Eastern Division (Binghamton, New Britain, New Hampshire, Portland, Reading and Trenton) against the stars of the Western Division (Akron, Altoona, Bowie, Erie, Harrisburg and Richmond).
