Drillers set radio plans for ’10

The Drillers return to Sports Radio 1430, The Buzz, while Dennis Higgins returns for another season as broadcaster. The Tulsa Drillers (Class AA; Texas League) and Clear Channel Radio announced that Drillers radio broadcasts will return to the airwaves of Sports Radio 1430, The Buzz. This year marks the 25th consecutive season that the Drillers and Clear Channel have partnered for game broadcasts. It will be the sixth straight season that The Buzz has been the radio home for Drillers Baseball.

"We are pleased to continue our partnership with Clear Channel and The Buzz as we move downtown to ONEOK Field," said Drillers General Manager Mike Melega. "Our fans will continue to tune into The Buzz for the great coverage they provide of all Drillers games."

The Drillers also announced that Dennis Higgins will return for his second year as the broadcaster for the Drillers. Higgins will continue to bring his own major league experience to Tulsa listeners, having previously served as a radio broadcaster with the San Francisco Giants.  In addition to his major-league work, Higgins has 14 years experience of calling action in the minor leagues, including five seasons in the Texas League with the Wichita Wranglers.

"We are fortunate to have an announcer as experienced, informed and entertaining as Dennis Higgins to lead our broadcasts," said Drillers Director of Public Relations Brian Carroll.

All 140 Drillers regular season games will be aired live on AM 1430.  Due to scheduling conflicts with the Jim Rome Show, some weekday afternoon games will be moved to KAKC, AM 1300.
