After a year of delays and financing wrangling, the new home of the Winston-Salem Dash (High Class A; Carolina League) will finally open April 13.
In town for the first game: the Potomac Nationals, with the first pitch scheduled for 7 p.m.
Winston-Salem, which owns a Carolina League-best 11 championships, will launch its 2010 campaign on the road beginning April 8 with a four-game series against the Kinston Indians at Grainger Stadium. After a scheduled off day on April 12, the Dash will open the new downtown ballpark with a six-game home stand from April 13-18, with a pair of three-game series against Potomac and Kinston.
