Following a successful 2009 season, Jonathan Griffith adds the duties of vice president with the Potomac Nationals.
The Potomac Nationals (High Class A; Carolina League) announced that General Manager Jonathan Griffith's role has been expanded within the organization, adding the role of Vice President to go along with his everyday duties as the GM.
The 2010 season will be Griffith's fourth with the Potomac Nationals, as he was signed on before the 2007 campaign. Griffith previously held jobs with the Richmond Braves (Class AAA; International League) and the Kinston Indians (High Class A; Carolina League).
Since joining the P-Nats organization, Griffith has overseen some of the most celebrated moments in P-Nats history, highlighted by the team's Mills Cup Championship in the 2008 season.
The team also celebrated a season-record attendance at Pfitzner Stadium in 2009. as 180,541 fans strolled through the gates to watch their P-Nats, including a single-game mark of 10,789 attendees on July 4.
In addition to the success on the baseball field, the P-Nats have been just as strong off it. The Potomac Nationals have been major players in the Northern Virginia region, putting their hands into many community service adventures, including the Uncle Slam Reading Program, where the team's mascot travels to local elementary schools to teach kids the importance of reading, and donating over $20,000 to area non-profit organizations in 2009.
