Loons reach out to community for ballpark improvements

The Michigan Baseball Foundation announced the launch of the Dow Diamond All-Stars fund-raising program, a chance for Great Lakes Loons fans to directly contribute to the Michigan Baseball Foundation for its charitable efforts in the community and improvements to Dow Diamond.

To continue to have Dow Diamond be an engine of economic growth, charitable giving, and high quality of life for the region, the Michigan Baseball Foundation is inviting people to contribute to MBF in a unique way. MBF has created the Dow Diamond All-Stars, a charitable giving program that enables its members to contribute to future enhancements of Dow Diamond, home of the Great Lakes Loons (Low Class A; Midwest League). Through a tax-deductible donation to the Dow Diamond All-Stars Fund, supporters will be able to select a distinct level of giving, commensurate with a Dow Diamond All-Star benefit package, with levels of giving starting at $10. The donations will support capital projects and improvements to ensure that Dow Diamond remains an economic, social, and charitable asset for years to come.

Membership information to the Dow Diamond All-Stars is available on Loons.com.

Since opening in 2007, Dow Diamond has fostered the success of the Great Lakes Loons, enabling MBF to fulfill its mission of creating regional economic development and supporting youth organizations. Since the opening of Dow Diamond, MBF and the Loons have created jobs, donated to non-profits, assisted in concession stand fundraising, offered reduced rates for non-profits to use the stadium on non-game days, and awarded grants to non-profit organizations in the region. Since the opening of Dow Diamond, charitable giving of the MBF and Loons has touched over 1,500 non-profit organizations. Dow Diamond has been the cornerstone in all of those efforts to give back to the region.
