There's been some buzz in indy circles about the status of the ballpark and the team. But the presence of earthmovers at the ballpark site is the clearest indication work on the ballpark will proceed. Still, we're weeks away from any solid ballpark construction, and opening for 2010– even if all the financing and ballpark design work is done, and we're not sure they are — will be a challenge, to be sure. There's always the chance the Fielders could play next season as a travel team while the ballpark is completed, something that could happen with the addition of the Rockford Riverhawks in the circuit next season.
