K-Tribe to mark 60 years of Grainger Stadium

The Kinston Indians will mark the 60th anniversary of Historic Grainger Stadium with a slew of special events, including a night with players wearing throwback Kinston Eagles jerseys.The Kinston Indians (High Class A; Carolina League) are marking the 60th anniversary of the opening of Historic Grainger Stadium with a series of events beginning Tuesday night.

The celebration begins on Tuesday as Kinston native and NBA All-Star Jerry Stackhouse comes to Grainger Stadium. The former Tar Heel will be signing autographs as part of Diabetes Awareness Night, raising awareness for Stack’s Triple Threat Foundation. Tickets are just $2 as it is Two Dollar Tuesday, with $2 reserved seats, burgers, beer and soda.

On Friday night is the actual 60th Anniversary Party, featuring K-Tribe players wearing throwback Kinston Eagle Jerseys (available for purchase through a silent auction the night of the game), fireworks and a salute to the Negro Leagues.
