The late Keith Lucier will be honored with a scholarship donated by his former employer, the Quad Cities River Bandits.
Chatting with Quad Cities River Bandits (Low Class A; Midwest League) assistant GM Keith Lucier was always a highlight of any visit to Modern Woodmen Park. He was an enthusiastic, engaging member of the front office during two stints with the team.
Lucier passed away last April at the too-young age of 35, after suffering a brain aneurysm. The team is honoring Lucier's memory with a scholarship: one Quad Cities student will intern with the team for a summer and then receive a full-tuition scholarship to the University of Iowa the following fall. Though the River Bandits are soliciting donations for the fund, the team will make up any difference.
