Omaha ballpark organizers reach fundraising goals; cost of ballpark decreases

It’s good news all around for backers of a new College World Series ballpark in downtown Omaha: the fundraising goal of $43 million has been reached, while the cost of financing the project is now $18.5 million below estimates.
It’s good news all around for backers of a new College World Series ballpark in downtown Omaha: the fundraising goal of $43 million has been reached, while the cost of financing the project is now $18.5 million below estimates.

The fundraising group, Donors Trust, has raised $31 million for the ballpark and $12 million for the demolition of Johnny Rosenblatt Stadium.

Meanwhile, the cost of building the ballpark is down some $18.5 million after new financing figures were computed, with an initial $64 million round of bonds prices at 5 percent.
