The new Lake County team, which features Kevin Costner as a minority investor, is taking season-ticket deposits for a planned 2010 ballpark opening.
There’s no ballpark or no team, but that’s not stopping Grand Slam Sports & Entertainment, LLC from launching its season-ticket drive for its inaugural 2010 season.
Grand Slam, where Kevin Costner is the minority owner of a new independent Northern League franchise, is asking for fractional deposits on season tickets at a proposed $15 million minor-league ballpark in Lake County, Ill.
Lake County Baseball is also promoting a name the team contest, where the fans have input into the team’s name.
