The Mobile BayBears (Class AA; Southern League) announced that work on the Hank Aaron Museum and Learning Center project will began this morning at 8 a.m., when Hinkle Home Movers began the process of prepping Hank Aaron’s childhood home for its relocation to the grounds of Hank Aaron Stadium. Along with preparing the house for the move, work on Gaslight Park, where the home will be located on the stadium grounds will also begin in the coming days.
The home will be moved to the stadium, restored, and converted into a museum dedicated to Hank Aaron’s life and career. There will also be a Learning Center in the Harbor Communications Center that will offer more interactive ways to learn about the Mobile native and baseball legend. You can follow the progress at hankaaronstadium.com.
