Watertown seeks back rent from Wizards

Watertown WizardsThe city of Watertown (N.Y.) is seeking $6,011.41 in back rent, revenue sharing and repair costs from the Watertown Wizards (summer collegiate; Perfect Game Collegiate Baseball League).

The effort has been stymied, say city officials, because they have have no point of contact with the team management, with team owner/ former GM Todd Kirkey unavailable because his cell phone was disconnected. The team was current in rent as of July, however.

Teams have not had a good financial track record playing at Alex T. Duffy Fairgrounds: the previous regime wracked up some $46,000 in unpaid bills before the team was sold.
