The Rockford Rivets (summer collegiate; Northwoods League) have sold naming rights to the playing field at Rivets Stadium, resulting in the moniker Choice Furniture Field at Rivets Stadium.
Under the terms of its new partnership with the Rivets, Choice Furniture & Mattress is now the naming-rights partner for the ballpark’s playing field. The Rivets Stadium name is not going away as a result of the agreement, but the field naming-rights deal makes the facility’s official moniker Choice Furniture Field at Rivets Stadium.
The agreement will also lead to Choice Furniture & Mattress branding receiving prominent display around the ballpark. Financial terms of the two-year pact were not disclosed. More from the Rockford Register Star:
“You’ll be seeing a lot of orange (signs) with their logos” around the field, said Chad Bauer, general manager of the Rockford Rivets.
“We joined forces so we can help each other,” Fadi Sahouri, general manager of Choice Furniture & Mattress, said Thursday.
Originally opening in 2006, the current Rivets Stadium was first used for independent Frontier League action. The Rockford Aviators last competed in the Frontier League in 2015, while the Rivets began play at the ballpark in the 2016 Northwoods League season. The Rivets will begin their 2019 season at home on May 28 with a game against the Wisconsin Rapids Rafters.
