The Souris Valley Sabre Dogs will host the 2019 Expedition League All-Star Game at Corbett Field. Two days worth of events will begin on July 15, with the summer-collegiate circuit’s All-Star Game set for July 16.
“We are extremely excited to have the All-Star extravaganza at beautiful Corbett Field in Minot,” commented Expedition League President Steve Wagner. “The Sabre Dogs had an incredibly successful inaugural season in 2018 and the team was embraced by the entire community. It’s an honor to award the great City of Minot with the Expedition League’s 2019 All-Star Game and related events. Corbett Field is an amazing ballpark and it deservedly won the 2018 best summer collegiate ballpark by Ballpark Digest.”
The All-Star Extravaganza will be a two-day event featuring the best 50 players in the Expedition League. The home run derby and Fan Fest will take place on July 15. It will be a family-friendly event full of fun things to do for all ages including live entertainment, autograph signings with the players and more. July 16 will consist of a luncheon for players, coaches, league personnel and fans and a guest speaker, to be announced, which fans are encouraged to purchase tickets for. More information regarding the luncheon will be available closer to the event. The All-Star Game will take place later that evening starting at 7:05 p.m.
“Minot has had such a rich history of baseball within the Magic City…to watch the evolution now with the Sabre Dogs and the fantastic job they do for the community in putting on a family event in the summer, there’s nothing better than coming down to a ballpark and smelling baseball,” Sean Sipma, Mayor of Minot, said. With the food, the ballpark and the entertainment, this is a great event for the Magic City and we are certainly excited to have the Sabre Dogs bring the All-Star Game here in 2019.
