Rick Hader, best known in sports circles as the entertainer Myron Noodleman, is battling a rare form of cancer. A fund has been established to cover his medical treatments.
Since the middle of the 1990’s, Hader has been a staple on Minor League Baseball promotional schedules by touring ballparks across the country as Myron Noodleman. Through a GoFundMe campaign, it was recently learned that he is currently battling a rare form of cancer and is in danger of losing one eye.
“After initial surgery and treatment, he is now in great danger of losing one eye while still battling the presence of the cancer,” the GoFundMe page states. “This has kept him from performing all last baseball season and keeping him from his other job as a high school teacher. Funds will be used to help with his inability to work while also going thru extensive medical treatments.”
Thus far, some in Minor League Baseball have contributed to the fund and called on others to do the same.
