The Lansing Lugnuts (Low A; Midwest League) reached an attendance milestone on Wednesday night, when they welcomed their eight millionth fan. The eight millionth fan was Bill Johnston.
Bill and his wife, Jenny, were greeted at the East Gate with a massive balloon drop, confetti cannons and a prize pack from the Lansing Lugnuts and the Michigan Lottery.
“1996 was not so long ago,” said Lansing Lugnuts general manager Nick Grueser, “but 8,000,000 fans and counting speaks for itself. We’re proud to thank and celebrate Bill, Jenny and you, the millions of fans who have supported us.”
Bill and Jenny Johnston were part of a crowd of 4,704 that watched the Lugnuts push past the Bowling Green Hot Rods, 3-1.
