When First Tennessee Park opens, there will be a cluster of new development as well, as Embrey Partners has begun construction on The Carillon luxury apartment community adjacent to the new home of the Nashville Sounds (Class AAA; Pacific Coast League).
When planning began on a new Sulphur Dell ballpark, Mayor Karl Dean, other city leaders and Sounds owner Frank Ward positioned it as a way to revitalize the surrounding neighborhood, and this new complex fulfills part of that goal. The four-story project sits on 3.91 acres and will offer 306 one- and two-bedroom luxury units ranging from 599 square feet to 1,704 square feet. The units will feature quartz and granite countertops, undermount sinks in both the kitchen and bathroom, side-by-side refrigerators, glass-top ranges, wine refrigerators, upscale flooring, high-end lighting and plumbing fixtures, and balconies. The 7,500 square foot community clubhouse will also offer a spacious fitness center, yoga and multipurpose room, gaming center, presentation kitchen, private dining center, resort-style pool, grilling stations, outdoor fireplace, and package concierge system. The price range for the units is $1,378-$3,300.
The design of The Carillon will be urban contemporary and complementary to the architecture of First Tennessee Park and to the future Tennessee state library and archive buildings that will be built across the street. Two private resident courtyards feature private grilling stations and outdoor seating, and top floor units will have partial views of the playing field and striking views of the downtown skyline.
Robert Hunt, Embrey’s executive vice president for development, says the The Carillon is scheduled to open in spring 2016. Construction will be handled by Embrey Builders, an affiliate of San Antonio-based Embrey Partners, and the development will be managed by Embrey Management Services. BGO Architects and Littlejohn Engineering will also be working on the project.

As noted, First Tennessee Park will open in time for the 2015 season.
