Sager bobbleheads a big hit in Fort Myers

Craig Sager and bobbleheads

It was awfully sporting for broadcaster Craig Sager to dress exactly like one of the two bobbleheads given away by the Fort Myers Miracle (High Class A; Florida State League) last weekend, but it did add to the ambiance.

A good crowd turned out for the return of the former WINK-TV sports broadcaster, who began his career in Florida. As the sports director for WINK-TV in Fort Myers, Sager was honored with the Sportscaster of the Year award from the Florida High School Coaches Association. Sager also worked with WTSP-TV in St. Petersburg as well as WSPB-Radio and WXLT-TV in Sarasota.

In his 21st season as a sideline reporter for TNT’s exclusive Thursday night NBA doubleheader coverage, Sager is well established in the sports media industry. A 2012 Sports Emmy Awards Nominee for Sports Reporter, Sager has made several appearances on NBA TV in his career and has also served as TBS’ field reporter for the MLB Division Series and the American and National League Championship series since 2007.
