River Bandits to hold mock reception to sell event capabilities

Quad Cities River BanditsMore teams should probably be doing this: the Quad Cities River Bandits (Low Class A; Midwest League) are holding a mock reception this Sunday in the Mediacom Sports Lounge and the banquet area of Modern Woodmen Park’s suite level to show what events can be held in these spaces.

“The ability to host large parties and receptions at the ballpark is one of the unique aspects of Modern Woodmen Park,” said River Bandits owner Dave Heller. “This is the perfect opportunity to show off this space to people from around the area who haven’t been to one of the many special events we hold at the ballpark on a year-round basis. The ballpark is just gorgeous, and our team is committed to working overtime to make sure every event at Modern Woodmen Park creates a memory that will last a lifetime.”

The event will run from 2 p.m. – 5 p.m. with full displays on the suite level and Mediacom Sports Lounge as they would be for meetings and receptions. Several vendors will be on hand with information about their services as well as a live DJ, cash bar and free food samples. The event is open to the public free of charge. A question and answer session will take place at 4 p.m. for newly engaged couples.

“Our special events are a big part of what we do here at Modern Woodmen Park,” said River Bandits general manager Kirk Goodman. “The number of wedding receptions, birthday and graduation parties and many other non-baseball related events that we hold at the ballpark every year continues to increase and it’s important that people see the wide range of capabilities our facility has.”
