New Pensacola team already has 500 season tickets in the bank

Southern LeagueNice to have this sort of financial commitment from the community before the team even has a name: the Pensacola Southern League team slated to begin play in 2012 has already received 500 season-ticket commitments, complete with nonrefundable deposits.

“It is gratifying to see the excitement for Double A baseball in our area,” said team owner Quint Studer. “To have sold 500 tickets prior to any sales campaign is remarkable. By the time we get ready for a season ticket campaign we may not have any season tickets left for we do want to hold tickets for groups and walk ups for games.”

The team is accepting a nonrefundable $100 deposit to secure a 2012 season ticket. Season tickets offer a discount of up to 20 percent off single-game tickets. Additional benefits include the same seat for all 70 home games, the ability to lock in low 2012 pricing for up to three years, season-ticket-holder only events and gifts, 10 percent off merchandise in the team store, inclusion in the “Never Wasted Ticket” program and guaranteed giveaway items on game days. Also, 2012 season ticket holders will receive a free game ticket and transportation to Mobile to see the future Pensacola baseball team play the Mobile BayBears on Friday, May 14, 2011.

The team will play in Zebulon as the Carolina Mudcats before moving to Maritime Park in 2012.
