Tennessee, Jacksonville awarded SL All-Star Games

Southern League logoThe Tennessee Smokies have been awarded the 2012 Southern League All-Star Game, announced today by the Southern League of Professional Baseball. Voted upon by the Southern League Board of Directors, the 2012 Game will be played at Smokies Park. It will mark the third time the event has been at Smokies Park; the Smokies also hosted the 2001 and 2002 Games.

Date and time for the game have yet to be announced.

Also announced this afternoon was the naming of host for the 2013 Southern League All-Star Game, which is the Jacksonville Suns. The game will be held at the Baseball Grounds in Jacksonville, Fla.

The 2011 Southern League All-Star Game, to be hosted by the West Tenn Diamond Jaxx, will be played at Pringles Park in Jackson, Tenn. next summer.
