The Richmond Flying Squirrels (Class AA; Eastern League) have sold out Opening Day at The Diamond, not exactly the coziest of venues.
“We are thrilled by the enthusiastic response from the community, and have no doubt that our first game in Richmond is going to be an historic occasion,” said Flying Squirrels’ Vice President & COO Todd “Parney” Parnell. “However, we want to guarantee our fans that we will provide the same level of entertainment and effort every night of the season, extending well beyond April 15th.”
The Flying Squirrels Home Opening Weekend Celebration extends from April 15th through April 18th, with a four-game series contested against the Reading Phillies (Class AA; Eastern League). Each of the three remaining games in the series will feature a special fan giveaway to commemorate the weekend.
