As a tribute to the Vermont maple sugaring industry, the Vermont Lake Monsters (Short Season A; NY-Penn League) will play as the Vermont Maple Kings on August 4.
The promotion will put the maple industry front and center, as the Lake Monsters organization will put on a one-of-a-kind maple themed event at the ballpark focused around education, experience, tasty food and fun.
“In 2018, Vermont once again proved it was king when it comes to producing maple syrup here in the United States,” said Nate Cloutier, Lake Monsters’ Executive Director of Business Development. “Maple is something that Vermonters are very proud of; we wanted to use our venue and platform to celebrate the cultural passion and successes. We will all come together for one special evening to honor this remarkable industry. It’s going to be sweet!”
“Baseball and maple. It’s a sweet match. Many thanks to the Lake Monsters for honoring our hard working Vermont sugar makers,” said Anson Tebbetts, Vermont’s Secretary of Agriculture, Food, and Markets. “This partnership is a home run at the ballpark and in the sugarbush.”
