The Great Lakes Loons (Low A; Midwest League) set a new attendance record on Thursday, when they welcomed over 6,300 fans to Dow Diamond.
A reported total of 6,383 fans turned out for the Loons’ game against the West Michigan Whitecaps on Thursday evening. That topped the team’s previous single-game attendance record of 6,365 fans, which was set on August 26, 2017.
On the field, Thursday ended in a loss for the Loons as the Whitecaps–who trailed 6-0 through six innings–overcame a deficit to defeat the Loons 9-6. However, the Loons won the series by taking games on Tuesday and Wednesday.
The Loons are about to embark on a three-game road trip to Fort Wayne, their last series before the Midwest League All-Star Break. They return home on June 28.
