With the weather warming and the end of school approaching, we expect to see plenty of noteworthy attendance figures passed along. Today, we have some news about a record set by the Salem Red Sox (High A; Carolina League) on Saturday.
The news: the team set a record when 8,856 fans showed up at Haley Toyota Field Saturday night. Alas, the fans did not go home happy, as other Salem Red Sox records were in order. The 18-1 loss to the Lynchburg Hillcats set new Red Sox-era records for margin of defeat and runs surrendered in the game.
