Phillies to Extend Citizens Bank Park Netting for 2017

Philadelphia PhilliesWe expect to hear more MLB teams implementing this sort of thing for 2017, as the Philadelphia Phillies will extend the Citizens Bank Park netting to the ends of the dugouts for the upcoming season.

The additional netting will affect fans in sections 114-118 and 129-133. Season-ticket holders affected by the netting additional Citizens Bank Park netting have been invited to the ballpark to see how their views are impacted.

Extended netting has been a contentious issue among some fans. MLB officials in 2015 announced plans to study the placement of netting in its ballparks, and some teams — including the Phillies — extended netting for the 2016 season. While a lawsuit seeking to impose expanded netting in MLB ballparks was dismissed in November, the issue remains active in MLB front offices.
