The Visalia Rawhide have unveiled the logo for the 2017 California League All-Star Game. The Rawhide will host the contest at Recreation Park on Tuesday, June 20.
The California League celebrates its 76th season in 2017 and for the first time since 1996 the mid-summer Advanced-A classic will be an all California League contest with All-Stars comprised of the North and South Divisions.
It’s the first time since 1989 and only the second time overall that the All-Star festivities will be hosted in Visalia, CA. The official logo, designed by Brandiose, combines the uniqueness of Rawhide Ballpark’s outfield wall barn, which represents our area’s proud agricultural roots, and a classic Americana red, white, & blue theme.
“Visalia, and this whole region, is very supportive & proud of their baseball team. Professional baseball has been a part of the fabric of the City for 70 years now, and what better way to celebrate that milestone than the season’s biggest celebratory event? We are looking forward to the opportunity to host this prestigious game, and showcasing our community to everyone in the California League.” explained Rawhide general manager, Jennifer Pendergraft.
As part of an All-Star Summer in Visalia, the festivities begin on Monday, June 19th and will feature a charity event for the Blind Babies Foundation of Tulare County, a Hitting Challenge for local high school baseball & softball players, and wrap up with the traditional Homerun Derby & Skills Competitions among the All Stars.
The North and South Division All-Stars will take to the field on Tuesday, June 20th, followed by a post-game fireworks show. While the game itself is the marquee event of the All-Star Festivities, also included will be a pre-game ceremony to induct the second class of California League Hall of Famers, giving fans a chance to see some of the greatest stars to play in the league in person.
