Crosscutters Announce Ballpark Upgrades

The Williamsport Crosscutters (Short Season A; NY-Penn League) are making improvements to BB&T Ballpark at Historic Bowman Field. Upgrades including changes to the seating as well as a new picnic deck.

The new plans call for all grandstand general admission seating to be overhauled with new reserved seating to be installed in its place. The current aluminum bleachers date back to the Williamsport Bills 1987 campaign.

“This is just one of the many initiatives high on our list when our ownership group took over two seasons ago,” said Cutters Principal Owner Peter Freund. “This further solidifies both our pledge and that of the City of Williamsport to continue to upgrade BB&T Ballpark in order to elevate the fan experience.”

The seating renovation is being funded through a collaboration between The City of Williamsport, River Valley Transit, the Williamsport Crosscutters and a grant by the Lycoming County Visitors Bureau, with the seat installation to take place in time for the 2017 season.

The project is part of an on-going effort between the City of Williamsport and the Crosscutters to renovate the second oldest stadium in America for the fans of today and coming generations. Earlier this year, the team and City announced the construction of a new $1.1 million premium fan deck that is currently under construction and will be open for the Cutters 2017 campaign.

As part of the seating renovation and new deck construction, the team will be announcing all-new ticket plans and options later this month.
