With Coca-Cola Field set for its 30th season, the Buffalo Bisons (Class AAA; International League) are unveiling a commemorative logo.
Coca-Cola Field first opened for the 1988 campaign, making 2017 its 30th season. Then known as Pilot Field, the ballpark accommodated a Bisons’ franchise that was then a part of the American Association, but was built tobe expanded in the event that Buffalo received a major league franchise.
Though Buffalo’s major league dreams never came to fruition, the facility has aged well over its history and continues to be a good home for the Bisons. Along with announcing the logo, the Bisons have also noted that several special promotions will take place this season. Those events will be announced at a later date.
Across major and minor League baseball, there is a fairly interesting slate of ballpark anniversaries in store for 2017. When looking in terms of year anniversaries as opposed to seasons, the highlights for 2017 include 75th birthdays for Pawtucket’s McCoy Stadium and San Jose Municipal Stadium, while Oriole Park at Camden Yards will turn 25.
