Biscuits set to welcome 2-million fan tonight

Montgomery BiscuitsThe Montgomery Biscuits will reach a significant milestone in team history: the 2-millionth fan to attend a Biscuits game will be feted tonight.

Tonight the Montgomery Biscuits (Class AA; Southern League) will welcome the two-millionth fan to walk through the Riverwalk Stadium gates.

The lucky fan will be showered with confetti and balloons, and will receive congratulatory Biscuits memorabilia. Air horns will sound to signify the fan’s entrance, and the fan will be featured throughout the night by throwing the ceremonial first pitch, being presented on the video board, and spending an inning on-the-air of the Biscuits radio broadcast.

“We’re proud of how the city of Montgomery has continued to embrace the Biscuits through these almost seven years,” said Biscuits General Manager Greg Rauch. “This is a celebration of all two-million of the great fans that we’ve been fortunate enough to welcome to Riverwalk.”

The Biscuits have been near the top of the Southern League in attendance since their inception in 2004, averaging more than 4,000 fans a game each season. The single-game attendance record was recently shattered this season when the Biscuits welcomed 7,591 on Independence Day.
