New York Yankees star Curtis Granderson will pick up most of the costs of a new ballpark at his alma mater, University of Illinois-Chicago, which is set to open for the 2015 NCAA season.
The new ballpark will be known as Curtis Granderson Stadium. The deal was approved yesterday by UIC trustees.
The total cost of the new ballpark will be $7 million, with Granderson contributing $5 million. It will seat 1,200.
