Longtime Norfolk Tides (Class AAA: International League) executive Dave Rosenfield has teamed up with John Traub to produce a new book, “BASEBALL … One Helluva Life.”
The 263-page book encapsulates the life story and baseball career of Rosenfield, who has worked in the minor leagues since 1956. The 83-year old Rosenfield is currently Executive Vice President the Norfolk Tides, having served as the Tides’ General Manager from 1962-2011.
The book is a first-person account of his 57-year love affair with America’s National Pastime. “BASEBALL … One Helluva Life” chronicles Rosenfield’s friendships and interactions with some of the most famous people in American sports history, such as Jackie Robinson, Sparky Anderson, Casey Stengel, Bob Feller and Art Rooney. The book includes testimonials from current Major League managers Bobby Valentine, Clint Hurdle, Ron Washington and Davey Johnson about the impact Rosenfield has had on their lives and careers.
The book was coauthored by Traub, general manager of the Albuquerque Isotopes (Class AAA; Pacific Coast League).
“BASEBALL … One Helluva Life” is available for purchase at the Isotopes Park Pro Shop and at the Norfolk Tides’ souvenir store at Harbor Park in Norfolk, VA. The book is also available online through the teams’ respective websites, abqisotopes.com and norfolktides.com. “BASEBALL … One Helluva Life” is published by Infinity Publishing.
