Job Title: Vice President – Sales & Marketing
Reports to: Executive Vice-President
Start Date: June 2018

Position Summary: The Lancaster JetHawks are seeking an experienced Minor League Baseball Executive to lead the team’s Sponsorship Sales and Marketing efforts. This person will be part of the team’s upper management with an opportunity to be involved in growing all facets of the organization; primarily through Sponsorship Sales, Marketing Initiatives and Community Involvement.

Essential Functions:

  1. Sponsorship Sales – As a member of the team’s upper management this individual will be directly responsible for the overall direction and results of the Sponsorship Sales Department. The JetHawks have seen consistent growth in this category for the past four years and seek an individual to take this department to the next level
  2. This person will need to show a consistent track record of growing individual and team sponsorship sales from year to year as well as the history of closing medium to large size multiyear sports sponsorship deals
  3. This individual will inherit a significant book of business and need to demonstrate the ability to build relationships with renewal clients while also constantly prospecting new opportunities
  4. As a leader amongst the staff; this individual will be expected to take initiative in all areas of the organization and be able to use their past experiences to help further the growth of the Lancaster JetHawks
  5. Ability to put together a comprehensive marketing plan each year that is creative, effective and within budget – while also ensuring the plan is executed in a timely and professional manner. This could include oversight of media buys, website/social media platforms, game to game promotions, non-traditional media, etc.
  6. This person needs to be dedicated to the industry of Minor League Baseball and be looking to take the next step in their career. This individual will have the opportunity to build their career through hard work, long hours and the opportunity to be involved with a fast-paced / growing organization and ownership group

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

  1. Bachelor’s Degree plus 5-7 years of related experience in Minor League Baseball sales (or equivalent industry)
  2. Extensive experience and proven track record of results in Sports Sponsorship Sales
  3. Ability to manage and train a sales staff – with a proven ability to hit individual and team sales goals
  4. Ability to generate new business leads and close contracts through face-to-face meetings, phone calls, community involvement, etc.
  5. Ability to build long-term relationships with new and existing clients
  6. Ability to motivate and communicate effectively with staff
  7. Ability to handle multiple projects, meet deadlines and achieve objectives in a fast paced environment
  8. Strong planning and organizational skills
  9. Strong communications skills, both verbal and written
  10. Ability to maintain a professional business image
