Five finalists have been unveiled in a team name contest for a Brandon, Manitoba club that will begin play next season in the summer-collegiate Expedition League. Fans can vote on the finalists now through Tuesday, December 18
The team name and the team’s logo will be unveiled the last half of the week of December 17. Fans who have voted for the team name chosen will be entered into a drawing for two season tickets for the 2019 season.
The five team name finalists are:
Wheat City Wonders
Brandon Bullheads
Wheat City Whiskey Jacks
Brandon Bison
Wheat City Threshermen
“We are thrilled with the level of response and enthusiasm from fans in suggesting the Brandon team name,” said Steve Wagner, Expedition League president. “It wasn’t easy to narrow down the choices to the five finalists since many great team name suggestions were submitted. The finalists are fun names and each of them have a unique connection to this wonderful part of Canada.”
