Mobile BayBears

Ken Clary has been appointed the general manager of the Mobile BayBears (Class AA; Southern League), according to an announcement from team ownership group BallCorps, LLC. Clary replaces Chris Morgan who recently resigned after serving four seasons to pursue other interests.

Clary, who will serve as BayBears GM beginning October 22, has spent over 25 years working in minor league baseball at both the Triple-A and Single-A levels. His most recent position was as a Senior Vice President for the Bowling Green Hot Rods (Low A; Midwest League). From 2005-2008 he served as General Manager of the Columbus Catfish (Low A; Sally League) an affiliate of the Dodgers, followed by the Rays. He also spent 13 years at the Triple-A level with both the Richmond Braves (International League) and Nashville Sounds (Pacific Coast League).

“We are excited to have Ken as our General Manager for the BayBears, his baseball knowledge, energy, sales skills, promotional background and operational experience will be a tremendous asset to the organization”, says Roger Wexelberg the President of BallCorps. Adding that “Ken will have the benefit of overseeing an experienced staff for the team’s final season in Mobile”.

Clary added, “I’m thrilled to be back in baseball and I would like to thank Ralph Nelson, BallCorps owner, and Roger Wexelberg for this tremendous opportunity. I am looking forward to working with the current BayBears staff in celebrating the 22-year history of BayBears baseball and making the final season a memorable and rewarding experience for our fans and the city of Mobile”.

The BayBears are set to move after the 2019 season to Madison, AL, where they will rebrand as Rocket City Trash Pandas and play at a new ballpark in the Town Madison development.
