Raptors, Dodgers Renew Affiliation

Ogden Raptors

The Los Angeles Dodgers have announced a renewal of their player development contract (PDC) with the Odgen Raptors (Rookie; Pioneer League). An announcement from the Dodgers did not explicitly state the renewal length, but Raptors team president Dave Baggott confirmed to the Standard-Examiner that the extension runs through the 2020 season.

The announcement was made jointly by Los Angeles Dodgers President and CEO Stan Kasten and Director of Player Development Brandon Gomes.

“The Raptor’s front office and fans have provided an exciting playing environment for our men to develop,” said Gomes. “We are pleased to continue our long standing relationship with Ogden and look forward to once again being a part of the community.”

The Ogden Raptors, who have been the Rookie League partner of the Los Angeles Dodgers since 2003, finished their 2018 season with a 46-30 record, a South Division title and a berth in the Pioneer League playoffs after a Pioneer League title in 2017.

The Raptors have won five league titles and 16 division titles in the team’s history.

We’re now at the point where MLB and MiLB teams can search for new affiliation options, so there’s always a shuffle of sorts at the end of the season.
