Ballpark Digest is previewing what every MLB team is doing to begin the season, both on and off the field, as the 2018 campaign is underway. Up next: the San Francisco Giants and AT&T Park.

In 2018, the San Francisco Giants will feature an interesting mix of history and new offerings at AT&T Park. While the celebration of the team’s 60th anniversary in San Francisco will be one of the highlights of the 2018 season, the Giants are also emphasizing a mix of unique new menu items and improved technology.

This year, the Giants will stage a season-long celebration of their 60th anniversary in San Francisco. Numerous promotions and events are planned in honor of this occasion, but the Giants are also planning a special exhibit area for AT&T Park. Dubbed The Giants Vault, the exhibit area will be located inside of the O’Doul Gate entrance and feature memorabilia and artifacts that honor the team’s history.

Other touches for the Giants’ 60th anniversary include updates to the Alaska Airlines Club Gallery, and a new Hall of Bobbleheads display located inside the @Cafe.

The emphasis on history will be one focal point of the AT&T Park experience this season. Beyond that, the Giants and exclusive AT&T Park food service provider Bon Appétit Management Company have plenty of plans in store to shakeup the menu options.

The span of new menu items covers a wide range, from the Juicy Lou—a new diner-style, cheese-stuffed signature burger—to fresh ahi tuna that can be served over rice, organic greens, or tortilla chips. There will also be new soft-serve ice cream options at the Garden Table, new crinkle cut fries that can be served plain, seasoned ballpark-garlic style, or with a chili and cheese topping.

Meanwhile, AT&T Park will also have some new drink options for 2018. Sierra Nevada is the new sponsor of the Sierra Nevada Pale Ale Plaza, an area behind the centerfield bleachers. Corona has also signed on as a sponsor, with its branding to be placed on the Corona Beach Bar—a new bar on the View level that will offer Corona and nachos. The bar will be constructed of shipping containers.

There is also an interesting technology change in place at AT&T Park. AT&T has installed more than 32 miles of fiber/copper cabling, while making adjustments to existing under-seat network infrastructure to improve 97 cellular service sectors. According to an announcement from the Giants, this project is expected to help triple the wireless capacity for AT&T customers at AT&T Park.
