It’s Modern Woodmen Park for 10 More Years

Modern Woodmen Park 2017

The Quad Cities River Bandits (Low A; Midwest League) and fraternal financial services organization Modern Woodmen of America extended their naming-rights deal another 10 years for the downtown Davenport ballpark.

The new deal includes a slight hike in naming-rights fees. The original deal called for $200,000 per season for a total of $2 million. The new deal is valued at $250,000 per season, for a total of $2.5 million. The extension means the former John O’Donnell Stadium will be known as Modern Woodmen Park through the 2027 season. It’s a local buy: the services giant is headquartered in Rock Island, one of the Quad Cities. (In fact, the company’s waterfront headquarters sits across the river from Modern Woodmen Park.) From the Quad-City Times:

“It’s been a great partnership for the last 10 years and it continues to be a perfect fit for us,’’ said River Bandits owner Dave Heller. “They share our mission of giving back to the community and like the River Bandits, family is at the heart of what they do.’’…

In addition to the naming rights agreement, Modern Woodmen has hosted nights at the ballpark for its members and employees and has sponsored the River Bandits’ kids club in past seasons.

“It’s been a great partnership and it has been the right fit for our organization,’’ said Michelle Opsahl, a public relations specialist for Modern Woodmen. “Baseball has been part of the Quad-Cities for generations and Modern Woodmen has been part of the Quad-Cities for close to 135 years.’’
