Three More Luxe Spots on Tap for Wrigley Field

W Club, Wrigley Field

Three more upscale clubs are on tap for Wrigley Field for the 2018 season, as the Chicago Cubs release details of the new venues and suite enhancements, as well as updating information on the previously announced American Airlines 1914 Club.

We knew there were three more clubs on tap for Wrigley Field, and the Cubs unveiled details earlier this week.

1914 Club, Wrigley Field

As mentioned, the American Airlines 1914 Club (shown above) is set to debut for the 2018 season. The size of the club will be 7,200 square feet–the largest of four planned premium areas at Wrigley Field–and will come with a variety of food and drink options. Rather than being built into the seating bowl, the 1914 Club lounge will be constructed under sections of seating behind home plate.

Two of the new clubs will also be located under sections of grandstand seating, down the first- and third-base lines. The clubs will provide the kind of access high-end customers expect these days, allowing views of the batting tunnels and feature their own VIP entrances near the marquee at Clark and Addison (shown above). In addition, there will be private spaces for each of the clubs within the grandstand.

W Club, Wrigley Field

The W Club (shown above) will honor Cubs greats, with player numbers and accomplishments detailed on tables and other displays. The food: buffet. This is where fans will have a view of the batting tunnels located down the third-base line.

Maker's Mark Club, Wrigley Field

The Maker’s Mark Barrel Room (shown above) will have a old-time Chicago speakeasy theme and be located down the first-base line.

Catalina Club, Wrigley Field

Catalina Club, Wrigley Field

The Catalina Club (shown above) will be located on the upper level behind home plate. The views, according to the Cubs, should be spectacular, incorporating the distinctive downtown skyline and the Lake Michigan shoreline. The name comes from the longtime Chicago Cubs spring-training base, California’s Catalina Island, where former Cubs owner William Wrigley Jr. held a controlling interest in the Santa Catalina Island Company. The Catalina Club will be the only one of the four clubs to actually sport a view of the game action; the rest will be cut off from field views, leaving fans to watch the game on one of the many high-def screens. Part of the space is currently occupied by the Jim Beam patio.

New Suite, Wrigley Field

Also on tap for 2018: renovation of the existing Wrigley Field suites, as shown above.

A premier membership will allow access to any of the clubs. The largest of the four areas will be the 1914 Club, seating around 600 or so fans.
